Farm Monitor

testing

2026

Every five minutes a timer wakes the Pi: it reads the farm’s state from GitLab and from both hosts, draws the board and pushes it to the panel — about eight seconds of work, then nothing. When nothing in the farm has changed, the panel is not touched at all, and e-paper holds its image with the power off. It watches and never acts: it runs no lanes and holds no credential that could change anything, so switching it off goes unnoticed. The board is a layout document edited in a browser and previewed by the panel’s own renderer, and an ESP32 firmware drawing the same board from the same data is on its way to replace the Pi.
